Historically, agriculture in Uganda has played a pivotal role in its economic development. Around 1903, during the British colonial period, cash crops like cotton were introduced in the country, creating a shift from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture. Since then, agriculture has remained the backbone of Uganda’s economy, contributing about 25% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and export earnings while employing approximately 70% of the population. Agriculture continues to play a vital role in ensuring food security, providing employment, and serving as a source of raw materials.

We therefore call upon you to come join us at our Money and Minds Farmer’s Workshop on 8th March 2025 at Divine Church of Christ Christian Fellowship Kitintale. Educating the African Child

Educating the African Child

It is on a spiritual foundation stated in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” that Charity-Gospel Missions Africa birthed the Educating the Africa Child Program.

The program was established to mitigate challenges encountered by mostly disadvantaged and vulnerable children in various communities of Uganda and Africa at large. Its main target in establishing this project was to help transform communities through addressing the, social, ethical, emotional and academic needs of students in an integrated learning manner.

In acknowledgement to the Ugandan national average drop out statistics of children as of 2019 the transition from primary level to secondary level of education stood at 44.95%. The statistics showed that the dropout rate was much higher amongst the Girl children, This was mostly due to early or teenage pregnancies, child labour, domestic violence, cultural practices such as child marriages lack of basic and scholastic materials, peer pressure, poor academic performance, teacher pupil relationships, and other school related factors such as poor school structures and non-provision of lunch. It was on such justification that Charity-Gospel Missions Africa established the Educating the African Child Program, so as to help combat the school children dropout rate in Uganda

The feasibility of Charity-Gospel Missions Africa being able to sustain the, Educating the African Child Program has been a combined result of generous donations from our lovely partners, and any other philanthropists who continuously extend support to ensure the prosperity of the disadvantaged and vulnerable African children. Like the African proverb goes: “It takes a whole village to raise a child” We therefore kindly request you to help secure these children’s dreams by joining the village and SPONSOR a child today.

Money and Minds Youth Conference 2024

Money and Minds Youth Conference 2024

“Renewing minds, Expanding Horizons and Inspiring you into Economic Independence and Spiritual Salvation”

Money and Minds Youth Conference is a Charity-Gospel Missions Africa youth mentorship program meant to support the youth in and around the neighboring communities. This mentorship program is intended at helping the youth live responsible lives socially, morally, economically and spiritually.

In May 2012 the Education Planning and Policy Analysis Department (statistics section) under the Ministry of Education & Sports (MoES) carried out a quantitative approach study and published a report showing the school dropout rates and percentages of children under the free Government Universal Secondary Education Program, whose main purpose was to groom more informed citizens, which means more skilled population and workforce with an appreciation of education.

The study determined that the biggest reason why students were dropping out of the Universal Secondary Education programme was due to teenage pregnancies, child marriages, (59% of the schools) involvement of students in business activities (child labour) or cultural reasons such as domestic chores, lack of interest in education by parents, indiscipline cases, group influences, transfer of parents to other area (31% of the schools), and only 10 percent of the schools reported death. The findings further established that students who don’t proceed to next classes not necessarily dropout but on average 45% of them transfer to other schools (USE and non-USE), 35% repeat classes and hence cease to be eligible for USE and 20% actually dropout of the formal education system.

In February 2020 after 8years of the government’s study on secondary school student dropout, it rolled out the new lower secondary education curriculum with the aim of creating and meeting the learners' needs especially in regard to skills training and enhancement.

It is on this ground that Charity-Gospel Missions Africa intends to contribute through an informal learning procedure of hosting community learning sessions for youth and other special groups of beneficiaries, following its contribution towards the education sector through it’s projects such as the Educating the African Child, (This program was established to mitigate challenges encountered by mostly disadvantaged and vulnerable children in various communities of Uganda. Its main target in establishing the project was to help transform communities through addressing the social, ethical, emotional and academic needs of students in an integrated manner of learning). Through various engagements with the education sector stakeholders and contributors, Charity-Gospel Missions Africa has gone on to establish healthy partnerships with like-minded organizations such as Reynolds Educational Missions Africa whose mission is to provide effective educational tools and procedures that empower individuals and organizations to achieve their best.

Reynolds Educational Missions Africa has over time united with like-minded individuals, educational and religious institutions, governmental and private organizations to fulfill their mission of providing nonsectarian education, plus educational resources to the good people of Uganda and beyond. It is from this relationship that Charity-Gospel Missions Africa has chosen to partner and organize the Money and Minds Youth Conference 2024, with Reynolds Educational Missions Africa under the Theme: “Renewing minds, Expanding Horizons and Inspiring you into Economic Independence and Spiritual Salvation” Happening on the 12th -13th Dec, 2024.
